T-or-C Police Officers, in conjunction with US Marshals and the New Mexico State Police spent all of Thursday, September 13 looking for the 15-year-old girl who was believed to have left town with her uncle following a family argument.
The stepmother reported Safrina Ugsang left the Poplar Street home with her biological uncle on her father’s side, Chris Salgado, who was wanted in the State of California. Photo of Chris can be viewed at: http://www.facebook.com/
Salgado violated his parole, leaving California, to join the family in Truth or Consequences about two months earlier. Salgado was said to be living in a motorhome on the property adjacent to the house on Poplar.
T-or-C Police Sgt. George Lee said the police department learned from the California Department of Corrections that Salgado, 48, had been sentenced to 30 years for the charge of homicide and was paroled in July of 2012.
Salgado is known to have a handgun and is believed to be armed and dangerous, therefore Safrina may be endangered and was possibly abducted by her uncle.
The Truth or Consequences Police Department is searching for Safrina Ugsang (15) and Vanessa Ugsang (13) who may have been abducted by her uncle Chris Salgado (48).
The two were last seen in Truth or Consequences at 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 13. Salgado and Ugsang walked away from Ugsang's home on Yucca Street in Truth or Consequences and have not been seen since then.
Salgado was last seen wearing unknown colored shorts and t-shirt. He is 6’5” tall and weighs approximately 250 pounds, with brown eyes and balded or short black hair. He has several tattoos on his body to include chest, fingers, arms and neck.
Safrina is 5’2” tall and weighs approximately 117 pounds, with long black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.
Salgado and Ugsang maybe in the company of Ugsang’s father, Robert Ugsang in a 2000 Pearl White colored Lincoln Town Car. The vehicle is low to the ground and should be displaying California license plates.
Ugsang is believed to be in danger of being sexually perpetrated by her uncle. All of the people mentioned above may be traveling to the Pomona, California area where they recently resided.
Anyone with information on the location of Salgado and Ugsang is urged to call 911 or the Truth or Consequences Police Department at (575) 894-1204.
