9/15/2012: I regret to bring news Patricia Martin, aka Tricia (17), missing from Pleasanton, California since 9/10/2012 has been ▬►LOCATED DECEASED according to her mother. Article: A missing Pleasanton teenager is believed to be the young woman found dead earlier today in a Newark motel along with an adult male, who lived in Livermore.

Kathy Martin, an executive assistant at the Pleasanton Weekly, said the girl found is her daughter Patricia, a 17-year-old Village High School student who lived at home. She reported her daughter missing to the Pleasanton Police Department as a runaway, who had left home last Sunday.

Pleasanton Police Watch Commander Sergeant Maria Munayer said tonight that she could not confirm the identities of the victims other than to say that the Pleasanton Police department was informed at 1:30 p.m. by the Newark Police Department of the deaths.

Newark police said the couple had sustained gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene. The Newark Police Department is investigating this incident as a murder-suicide or double suicide.

"This morning at 11:48 a.m., the Newark Police Department responded to the EZ8 Motel located at 5555 Cedar Ct. after employees reported an unconscious male and female inside a motel room," Munayer said in a statement. "The male and female had sustained gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene. The Newark Police Department is investigating this incident as a murder-suicide or double suicide."

Mrs. Martin called Pleasanton police on Monday, Sept. 10, to report that her daughter had run away from their home. Although she was unable to provide information regarding the daughter's whereabouts, she believed she may be in the company of her boyfriend, who was identified on a Facebook account as James Shanelec. Detectives conducted a missing persons investigation to include following up on leads provided by Mrs. Martin and the daughter's friends, and disseminated flyers to neighboring law enforcement agencies.

The Pleasanton Weekly also has posted Patricia Martin's photo and missing person's information on its web site since Tuesday.

Munayer said the Pleasanton Police Department is working in cooperation with the Newark Police Department in this ongoing investigation.
