Missing Man fro Winthrop, Maine

From Winthrop, Maine Since September 14, 2012 Please Help Find Joshua Dutch

Police continue to search for a Stanley Road man who apparently walked away from his home early Saturday morning.

Joshua Dutch, 33, was last seen Friday evening shortly before midnight, said Winthrop Police Capt. Ryan Frost. Dutch took no personal belongings and did not take his vehicle.

"Basically, he just up and disappeared," Frost said.

Police conducted two searches over the weekend. Winthrop police and fire departments, along with Maine Sate Police K-9 team, searched the area on Saturday. A larger search, based at Dutch's home at 553 Stanley Road, took place Sunday afternoon and included Winthrop police and fire departments, Game Wardens, additional K-9 teams and a Maine Warden Search Plane. The search uncovered no leads, Frost said. No additional searches were being planned Monday afternoon.

"They feel confident we've done what can do at this point," Frost said.

Dutch was dealing with personal issues, Frost said, but police know of no specific reason for Dutch's departure. Dutch has family in the area. Published reports indicate Dutch at one time lived in Waterville.

"There was some correspondence that leads us to be concerned for his welfare," Frost said.

Dutch is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds, and has brown eyes, a mustache and brown hair -- although his head was shaved.

Dutch probably was wearing blue jeans and black work boots, but no further details about his clothing were available.

Frost asked anyone who might have seen a man matching Dutch's description to contact Winthrop police at (207) 377-7226.
