To remain anonymous call (812) 280-2276.Article: JEFFERSONVILLE — The disappearance of a 19-year-old man has his parents and friends worried, and local law enforcement is now looking for the teenager.

Tony Bennett’s son, 19-year-old Ethan Hunter Bennett, was last seen by a “minor” family member around 11:30 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, Sept. 11. Ethan Bennett is now being sought by the Clark County Sheriff’s Department to verify his well-being, and other local law-enforcement agencies are aware of the search.

“The reason why this case has kind of got our interest is he’s had no contact with friends or family, which even the friends and family said that’s just not normal,” Detective Lt. Randy Burton said at a press conference Monday. “He’s a pretty social individual. The individual left without his [cell] phone and has no means or taking care of himself ... money-wise.”

Burton said the search for Ethan Bennett is not currently considered a criminal matter.

According to Burton, Ethan Bennett left the family’s Sellersburg home in a 2001 silver Jaguar, a family car. The car bears Indiana plates numbered RJU784. Ethan Bennett was last seen wearing khaki shorts and either a blue or white T-shirt.

A witness last saw Bennett driving the Jaguar on Veterans Parkway in Clarksville at around 9:30 a.m. Friday, turning south as though to take Interstate 65, Burton said.

Ethan Bennett is not employed and was taking a break from classes at Ivy Tech Community College, Tony Bennett said. He said that his son planned to re-enroll at Ivy Tech for spring classes.

Tony Bennett he can’t speculate on why his son has disappeared, and said the search for employment may have weighed on Ethan Bennett.

“I’m potentially concerned that there could have been some depression, sure,” Tony Bennett said. “I’m left with a lot of guessing and not a lot of answers, which is all the more disconcerting for the family.”

Tony Bennett said he and his wife were out of town the night that Ethan Bennett disappeared. Tony Bennett said the minor family member Ethan Bennett spoke to did not note any unusual behavior.

“He’s missed curfew before, but never nothing to this extent,” Tony Bennett said.

Anyone who encounters Ethan Bennett is encouraged to call the Clark County Sheriff’s Department dispatch line at 812-246-6996. Anonymous tips concerning the disappearance can be submitted by calling 812-280-2276.

“There’s nothing criminal going on here,” Burton said. “We just need to find the whereabouts of this young man and check on his welfare. Like always, the sheriff’s office takes all of the missing-persons reports seriously, and we’ll take whatever means necessary to locate this individual and get him back in touch with his family.”

“Ethan, I just want you to know that if you have the opportunity to hear this, to let you know that I love you, and that’s unconditional,” Tony Bennett said. “... If there’s anything that you need, anything you want, any help I can get you, please let me know. Call me on my cell. If you can’t come to me, I’ll come to you.

“Just know that your family loves you very much.”

Bone Fragments found in missing persons' home - Portage County, Wisconsin

A Portage County judge says there is enough evidence for Dolores and Ron Disher to stand trial in a social security fraud case.
In August, the department sent out a news release asking for the public's help locating Marie Jost, 100, and her son Theodore, 74. Shortly after, Marie's son, Charles, daughter, Dolores Disher and Dolores' husband, Ronald were all charged with theft and fraud after investigators say they cashed $175,000 worth of Marie's social security checks. Investigators says the three also changed their story when questioned about Marie and Theodore's whereabouts.
Portage County Judge, Thomas Flugaur says the case against the Dishers will move forward after the testimony of two witnesses in a hearing, Friday. Special Agent Catura of the Social Security Administration and Detective Ostrowski of the Portage County Sheriff's Department both testified for the prosecution. The most alarming testimony came from Detective Ostrowski who talked about a conversation he had with Ron Disher at the very beginning of the investigation.
"He asked me if I thought if she was dead and I said yea I do think Marie maybe deceased. How long has she been deceased? And to quote him, he said “She's been gone for 25 to 30 years,'" Detective Ostrowski testified.
Detective Ostrowski also told the court that two inmates, who share a cell block with Ron Disher, told him Disher had confessed to them. In one case, Disher is said to have confessed to fraud and killing Marie Jost. In the second case, Disher is said to have confessed to the fraud, but told the inmate his wife, Dolores, killed her mother.
Detective Ostrowski also highlighted contradictions in the information provided by both Ron and Dolores concerning Marie and Theodore's disappearance. Those contradictions included problems with where they said Marie and Theodore lived, letters supposedly written by Marie to the Dishers and why it is unlikely the duo are on a roadtrip.
Both are scheduled to enter a plea in October. Ron Disher is also charged with assault after authorities say he got into a fight in the jail.
The Disher's attornies have also motioned that their bank accounts be opened back up. They were frozen during the investigation. A hearing will be scheduled on that motion.
Dolores' brother, Charles Jost is also charged in the case. He's undergoing a competency exam to see if he's mentally fit to stand trial.
Captain Dale O'Kray from the Portage County Sheriff's Department says investigators have stopped processing the scene at Marie's Amherst Junction home. Several small bone fragments have been sent off to Madison for testing to determine if they are human. Earlier this month, cadaver dogs picked up spots of interest at the home.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts or last know location of either Marie or Theodore Jost is urged to contact the Portage County Sheriff’s Office at (715) 346-1400. Detectives are working to put together a time line of the last time the two were heard from.
